May 19th 2009, Business Meeting

There was a Father Fred Committee meeting held at 6:00 pm before the business Meeting.

Vicki Beam Director announced that she had to step down from her post due to personal reasons having to due with her work schedule. Mike O’Connor has been appointed to replace her as the director.

Mike took over the meeting.

Mike & Lew Kirchner went to the blessing of the bikes in Baldwin this last weekend. They had a huge turn out this year, even thought the weather was cold.

Tara Baesch spoke about the Father Fred benefit planning. Steve, Sherry & Tara were able to get 51 signatures from the downtown shop owners, she submitted them to the City clerk, and we will see if we have to get more. We have prices on t-shirts, pins, & durags, we will be ordering them next week. Posters will get ordered as soon as we know we have the downtown for the last poker run stop. She got the first 250.00 donation today. Registration packets will be available to pre-sell this year, and the form will be available on the website. Volunteer sign up sheets will be passed around at the next 2 Chapter meetings. Father Iakovos passed his motorcycle endorsement this last Sunday. Eric Fischer will plan the poker run stops.

LOH /Renatta – May 23rd will be the first scheduled ride for the LOH ladies around Torch Lake.

Webmaster/Steve – The 2010 State Rally Traverse City promotion CD is posted on the website with no music if anyone would like to view it.

Secretary/ Sherry P. – very poor turnout for the Progressive dinner this year, we have 150.00 to split, not sure how to divide the monies. She suggests 20% to the appetizer stop, 30% to the soup/salad stop, and 50% to the main course stop.

Activities/Roberta M. _ went over May & June schedule of activates. In July we will have a Lighthouse tour ride and dinner ride to Frankfort.

The Cadillac ride on 5/28 will be a 2 hour ride.

The Mystery ride last Thursday was really a mystery, Brian M. didn’t know that the road captain at the top of the list had to lead the ride.

Gary Potter’s surgery was a success and he is at home resting.

New Member ride 5/20 leaves Classic at 7:00 pm, show up at 6:30 to view the safety video.

Treasure/ Lew K. – finances are fine. The Sherman’s brought in 51.00 from their swap meet food sales to donate to the Chapter.

Merchandise Coordinator – Kris F. _ looking at hen leys & sweatshirts to purchase with Chapter logo to sell.

New Member Liaison/Eric F. – 170 members as of today. Suggested that we change the password to the website – new password “Thunder’.  Some members that had not yet renewed we still l getting e-mails, and they shouldn’t unless the sign up again.

Mike O’Connor has submitted our 2010 State rally proposal to Ben weeks. One member from the Capitol City HOG group has agreed to be a committee officer for our rally. We will need one more HOG member from another chapter to be an officer also. May 31st is the proposal date in Lansing; Mike & Lew will be going.

Classic Motor Sports Owner/ Don P. – the Michigan dealers are doing a passport campaign. You have to get all the 27 dealers in Michigan to stamp the passports. This will get each participant more entries in the bike giveaway in August at the State rally in Lansing. You need a valid e-mail address & phone number to sign up.

Eric F.  – Classic is offering a “super ride Harley” promo that just started. They have one of each new family of Harley’s in at Classic to take demo rides on.
